One more of those little routines I try to keep, especially with the little one since she is all day with me (we have so much fun together I have to admit!) is "washing day", "baking day", "sewing day" and "art day". fridays, like I mentioned, are "cleaning day" as we prepare to spend the weekend as lazily as possible. We like the house to be mostly clean so we can enjoy ourselves, and spend little time tidying up.

Parte de la rutina o ritmo que llevo con la preciosa pizpireta, es dedicar una manana a una actividad de las dos. Tenemos nuestro dia de lavanderia, de costura, de hornear y nuestro dia dedicado al arte. Todas estas actividades suceden mientras la nena mayor acude a la escuela. Por lo tanto, los fines de semana y por las tardes, trato de hacer un poco mas de tiempo para pasar con ella y que no se me aguite. Los viernes, como ya les mencione, son los dias de limpieza, en preparacion para pasar todo el santo fin de semana tirando la mas flojera posible, sin tener que preocuparnos (mucho...) de que se nos vaya a caer la casa encima de la mugre.

I actually just sat down last night to try to decide what days of the week will be slotted for which activities and I could not figure out what activity my little ones should do to "help" with the laundry. I really like the idea of them hand washing the doll clothes and bedding!
Thank you! I've been feeling a bit of a void in our day to day activities and purpose. I love the idea of a rhythm. Children do so well on their own but need direction sometimes too. Thank you for your thoughts. Christina

I start my day with getting the kids off to school and the first thing I do is make all the beds and tidy up.
Saturdays to washing bathrooms and cleaning all floors. I enjoy doing it on this day because the kids help by cleaning up their stuff and rooms.
They see us clean and get to help out. But Fridays have always been movie night. We all make beds in the living room watch a family movie together. I LOVE Fridays.
