Little drummers is what I have now in my house. Adica sings this song all day, and the 12 days of Christmas...the cutest thing I tell you.

Now, the entire house smells of pomanders, bundles of cinnamon and oranges and cinnamon ornaments. Ah! the cinnamon ornaments is the greatest thing! as soon as you approach the tree you are well received by the smell of pine and cinnamon...with a hint of appleasauce.

I really think they are beautiful so if you want to make some here is the scoop: 1 pint of appleasauce (drain it a little to get rid of some of the water content) + 8 oz of powdered cinnamon. Mix both ingredients gradually, until you achieve the consistency of cookie dough. Pat with your hands one cup of mixture at a time into a 1/4 inch thickness, cut with cookie cutters, place on parchment or aluminum paper, and let dry in a warm place (3 to 5 days) turning every day. Don't forget to pierce holes in them so you can hang them up. They dry up nicely and smell delicious.

Ahi les va la receta de los adornitos hechos con canela. Medio litro (ma o meno) de pure de manzana + ocho onzas de canela en polvo. denle una coladita al pure, para quitarle un poco lo aguado, y mezclen a intervalos los dos ingredientes hasta que obtengan una masa tipo para galleta. ahora bien, trabajando con una taza de masilla, denle palmaditas cariniosas hasta que les quede mas o menos de 1 cm de espesor, corten con moldes para galleta, haganle orificios donde piensan colgar el adornito, y dejenlos secarse en papel aluminio en un lugar calientito por como cuatro o cinco dias. Huelen que se mueren de la envidia!
