Little drummers is what I have now in my house. Adica sings this song all day, and the 12 days of Christmas...the cutest thing I tell you.
Now, the entire house smells of pomanders, bundles of cinnamon and oranges and cinnamon ornaments. Ah! the cinnamon ornaments is the greatest thing! as soon as you approach the tree you are well received by the smell of pine and cinnamon...with a hint of appleasauce.
I really think they are beautiful so if you want to make some here is the scoop: 1 pint of appleasauce (drain it a little to get rid of some of the water content) + 8 oz of powdered cinnamon. Mix both ingredients gradually, until you achieve the consistency of cookie dough. Pat with your hands one cup of mixture at a time into a 1/4 inch thickness, cut with cookie cutters, place on parchment or aluminum paper, and let dry in a warm place (3 to 5 days) turning every day. Don't forget to pierce holes in them so you can hang them up. They dry up nicely and smell delicious.
Finnie made all our cinnamon ornaments and she is very proud of them

Fabs, you need to put out a magazine for homemade goodies. I am loving all of these holiday posts. I wish I could smell those orange and cinnamon bundles. And Finnies little chubby child hand making the applesauce stars...so CUTE! Wish I could take the girls on a animal print exploration walk this holiday! Stoked that they're into that. Happy Holidays with the fam.
