Estan en la cama...muchos besitos les dió su mamá. This is a traditional spanish song, that we sing to our children when we are putting them to bed. I love it. and the girls seem to enjoy it too. I can't remember for the life of me most of the songs my mom used to sing to us, or that I used to sing while playing. So I have been doing a little bit of research and have asked my mom to write me those songs...once I read them I know I'll remember the tunes. For now...part of our daily routine involves singing to the girls at night, with the ligths off, these two: Los Tres Cochinitos and El Pastorcillo. The girls go to bed with the handknit cats I made them this past christmas. They're pretty soft so I think that's why...sometimes they sleep with a doll or with a sleepybaby.
Ultimamente, parte de nuestro ritmo cotidiano es que les canto a las niñas, mientras las acuesto en sus camas y apago la luz. Esto parece dar resultado por el momento, y por sobre todas las cosas, me hace recordar cuando mi mamá nos cantaba canciones. Lo malo del caso es que me acuerdo de muy pocas canciones y la mayoría me las se a medias. Asi que ni corta ni perezosa le pedí a mi madre que me escribiera la letra de tres canciones que quería cantarles a las niñas, y por lo tanto, el repertorio actual nocturno comprende Los Tres Cochinitos y El Pastorcillo. Esta ultima canción es quizás mi preferida...porque es la que mas recuerdo a mi madre cantandonos...y siempre aunque me daba tristeza oírla, me sentía confortada al final. Los gatos también forman parte del ritual...últimamente duermen con ellos, será porque estan super acolchonaditos!
